It was 1968 and a 26 acre farm in Stewartstown Pennsylvania. My wife and I called it Tolna Hill Quarter Horse Farm which stayed a horse farm until late 1980 and then it started. We were young and brave and had no name for our market, it stayed that way for several years. Thousands of people came to our farm to "pick your own" produce and herbs. The children enjoyed the cornfield maze, haunted house and the hay rides as we enjoyed dressing up for Halloween to scare them, THEY LOVED IT!!! In 1993 we remodeled our horse barn, we got central air!!! and we were on our way. We decided we needed a new name for the market "but what"? We thought for some time when my wife looked at me and said "Scarecrow Farm", we found our new name. For many years we brought southern York County the great taste of local produce and a wide selection of antiques, collectibles, crafts, flea market items and yes even "Scarecrows"! In 2010 we will continue the flea market to bring you more great prices and products as we did in the past along with the reinvented market building to bring you a new snack area, lights, paint, new website and like always the great personal service from Scarecrow farm.
